Es una lástima pero la carrera en solitario de Frank Black hace ya tiempo que solo es apta para fans recalcitrantes como yo. Más preocupado de publicar y publicar álbums, después de escuchar cada novedad del ex lider de Pixies me quedo con la misma sensación. Parece que se esfuerza a medias.
Los discos suelen tienen fuerza, a veces grandes canciones, pero siempre se diluyen en cuento intentas profundizar un poco y se olvidan después de dos o tres escuchas. Pero no pasa nada, poco tiempo después que se te haya olvidado el disco, aparece de nuevo Black Francis con otra medianía y volvemos a repetir el mismo proceso. Así llevamos desde 1998 y Frank Black and the Catholics, el último disco que de vez en cuando sigo escuchando. Doce años y doce discos sin pena ni gloria después, llega NonStopErotik, otra pequeña desilusión.
El disco está concebido como un ejercicio conceptual dedicado al amor y al sexo, aunque en muchas canciones cuesta encontrar la conexión erótica o amorosa porque Black Francis sigue siendo un poco retorcido. El sonido, como es habitual en la carrera en solitario de nuestro protagonista, sigue siendo de rock clásico americano, más cercano a Jeff Buckley que a los Pixies.
Si no tienen tiempo para escuchar el disco entero, les recomiendo “Rabbits”, “Oh my Tidy Sum”, “Lake of Sin”, y la canción más Pixies del disco, “Six Legged Man”.

I am surprised too by the aomunt of requests. My elder daughter has been in senior school 2 years now and they are non existant from her school. its lovely. mind you its probably to make up for the fact you have a teenager at home My Son Jake started this sept and it feels flipping endless!My rules of survival are:1. Never volunteer. no not even once same goes for attending a pta meeting- no one gets it my ideas are the best.. what is it with that..I offer support by attending fetes bringing gifts for them to raffle ( my mother in law is a shopaholic ) and I am very liberal with praise and recognition for the teachers as well as some nice chocs at Christmas.5. I smile a lot.
