El nuevo documental de Michael Moore, “Fahrenheit 911”, ha sido seleccionado para la secci?n oficial del Festival de Cannes y competir? por la palma de oro.
El cineasta de Flint ya compiti? en Cannes en el 2002 con “Bowling for Columbine” (obteniendo el premio especial de jurado), y es la segunda vez en 48 a?os de historia del festival que un documental es seleccionado en la secci?n oficial.
“Fahrenheit 911,” financiado (seg?n le?do y me extra?a) por la productora de Mel Gibson, denuncia las “turbias vinculaciones” entre el clan Bush, y la familia de Osama bin Laden y c?mo el gobierno Bush ha aprovechado el tr?gico 11 de septiembre para imponer sus planes.
El jurado de Cannes 2004 estar? presidido por Quentin Tarantino e incluir? a Jerry Schatzberg, Kathleen Turner y Tilda Swinton entre otros.

I just got word that my new film, “Fahrenheit 911,” has been selected by the Cannes Film Festival to premiere there in competition next month!
This is only the second time in the last 48 years that a documentary has been chosen to be in the main competition (the first being “Bowling for Columbine” in 2002) — and, in fact, another documentary has also been chosen for this year. The non-fiction film revolution rolls on!
I am deeply honored by this announcement, considering it comes from our mortal enemy, the French.
This year’s jury in Cannes is headed by Quentin Tarantino and also includes director Jerry Schatzberg, Kathleen Turner, Tilda Swinton and others.
“Fahrenheit 911” will be in theaters across the U.S. (and the rest of the world) this summer. More info, gossip and all the juicy details to follow…

En un principio lo iba a producir San Mel Gibson pero se endeudo con la Pasion, auqnue ahora se este forrando, y el proyecto paso a Miramax, si recuerdo bien.
Mira que Disney financie esto pero asi estan las cosas.
